As a part of exploring different ways to display and promote the album, I first looked into having a digital version of the booklets in the album package.
I looked online to see what platforms I could use to display an E-booklet, and cut it down to two platforms - Canva and Issuu. I used an old publication I made for a module in Y1 to test out if these platforms could work.
CANVA
Canva was great as it had a square booklet template that made it easy for me to turn into an E-booklet. However, it didn't let me upload the pages for the inner front and back covers, which messed up the order of my pages and ultimately didn't flow right.
Issuu
Issuu had a really interesting display of the booklet, as you could actually flip the pages and it was mocked up in a really nice format. I could upload the PDF of my pages and it would automatically turn it into a booklet. However, it didn't take into account the size of my pages and it cropped weirdly, so some content was always either cut off or bled into the next page.
Solution? My issue with Issuu was the cropping whilst my issue with Canva was the way the pages were displayed, so I decided to merge the best of both worlds. I first imported my pages to Canva so that they could be cut neatly into perfect squares. It didn't matter that the pages didn't line up in its preview, as I had the single square pages. I saved that into a PDF, and uploaded that to Issuu, and my cropping problem was solved!

The result was a very neat little e-book of my publication, where all my illustrations and photos did not lose it's quality and overall carried my physical booklet to a nice digital memento.
